Fabolous recalled a time when he had to teach his son a lesson about taking opportunities when the youngster was too scared to shoot with Steph Curry during the 2015 NBA All-Star Weekend.

In his conversation with The Pivot, Fab touched on how important it is to take opportunities when they present themselves, and he brought up how an interaction between his son and the four-time NBA champion reminded him of that. According to Fab, it was the 2015 NBA All-Star Game that was held in Madison Square Garden in NYC, and Steph approached him and his son during halftime.

Steph asked Fab's son if he wanted to come on the court to shoot a few jumpers with him, which caused the rapper to quickly take his phone out to capture the moment. But Fab's son turned down the offer as fear struck him, and he didn't want to face possible embarrassment alongside arguably the greatest shooter of all time.

"My son like, 'Nah, I don't want to shoot,' and I'm like, 'What? Go shoot the ball. What are you talking about?' He like, 'Nah, I'm not going to shoot,'" remembered Fab. "So we get back, and I'm like, 'Yo, why didn't you want to shoot?' He like, 'Yo, I ain't want to miss in front of everybody.' I'm like, 'But you gotta shoot to miss. What if you had made it?' He's like, 'Yeah, I could've.' I said, 'Yeah, in that opportunity, those are the two options you either gonna shoot and make it or shoot and miss it.'"

The rapper said that his son finally understood how important the moment was and told his dad that he would take the opportunity next time. But the Brooklyn native went even deeper into his message by telling his son, "When's the next time you going to shoot with Steph Curry?"

Life is all about teaching moments if you ask Fabolous. He also recalled a lesson he learned when Beyoncé confronted him about a verse he rapped, mentioning her sister, Solange. Fab stated that it taught him to understand that the people he includes in the lyrics to songs may not take it so well and that he could be more mindful when name-dropping in tracks.
