50 Cent said that he fears for his life after news broke that an NYPD commanding officer told his subordinates to shoot the rapper on sight. The prolific poster has repeatedly shared screenshots of articles explaining the ongoing controversy as well as photos of the commander while noting that he "hasn't been able to sleep."

"I’m afraid for my life, I haven’t been able to sleep since I heard of this," he said in one caption. "The cops never notified me of the threat. I’m closing all my business in New York. I may have to sue the city."

While there is a possibility that Fif is joking about his fears, the sheer amount of posts and his language within them, suggest that he is being serious. Across the posts, 50 accused the NYPD officer of being a dirty cop, threatened legal action, and called him a gangster with a badge.

"This guy Emanuel Gonzales is a dirty cop abusing his POWER, (sic)" he said. "The sad part is this man still has a badge and a gun."

"I take this threat very seriously and im consulting with my legal counsel regarding my options moving forward," he wrote in another post. "I am concerned that I was not previously advised of this threat by the NYPD."

Gonzalez and 50 have bad blood. The precinct commander previously filed a complaint against 50 Cent, alleging that the rapper intimidated him on Instagram. Fif accused Gonzalez of "shaking down" a club owner and closed the post with his catchphrase "get the strap." Against this backdrop, Gonzalez made what he says was a joke. That "joke" has him under investigation by Internal Affairs.
