Khaled will star alongside the orginal Bad Boys, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, as well as Vanessa Hudgens, Paola Nuñez, Alexander Ludwig, Charles Melton, and Jacob Scipio. The action-comedy began filming Monday and is being directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.

According to Heroic Hollywood, the sequel will follow Smith's Mike Lowery and Lawrence's Marcus Burnett as they attempt to take down a drug cartel in Miami (Khaled's hometown). The protagonist will reportedly clash with a younger specialized police unit played by Hudgins, Ludwig, and Melton. It's unclear if Khaled will portray himself or a fictional character in the sequel.

Stay tuned as more details about Bad Boys for Life become available. The film is set to hit theaters Jan. 17, 2020.
