Drake's "In My Feelings" Is Taking Off Thanks to Viral Dance Challenge

Drake's domination of the 2018 music charts already started earlier this year with "God's Plan" and "Nice For What," but with the viral success of the "In My Feelings" dance challenge, it looks like we've got another hit track on our hands.

Drake is no stranger to a viral hit. To speak just of 2018, he’s already dominated the charts with “God’s Plan” and “Nice For What,” and he’s likely looking to replicate the feat with tracks off his newest album, Scorpion. “In My Feelings,” with its New Orleans bounce-inspired beat, looks like it’ll be the track that goes the distance, especially thanks to the viral dance challenge that’s lighting up social media.

The challenge, which is being hashtagged with both #InMyFeelingsChallenge and #DoTheShiggy, a reference to the dance moves on display, appears to have originated with comedian and online personality Shiggy, creator of The Shiggy Show. Speaking on the song's viral success, producer TrapMoneyBenny said, "It's amazing, I'm just grateful to have been a part of the album."

The challenge is spreading like wildfire, and it’s inspiring celebrities, news stations, and not-so-famous folk alike to get their dance moves on. Among the more famous dancers are Tinashe, DJ Khaled (who arguably had the most enthusiastic reaction), and Odell Beckham Jr.

Scorpion has been out for just a week now, and, assuming the internet works the way it usually does and the summer continues to heat up, get ready for a whole load more of “In My Feelings” and the shiggy dance.
