Q-Tip Teases His Solo Album 'The Last Zulu' Once Again

Q-Tip is teasing the arrival of his solo album 'The Last Zulu' once again, and this time, the A Tribe Called Quest artist might finally deliver.

Q-Tip is back to tease the arrival of his solo album The Last Zulu. The A Tribe Called Quest artist has been talking about the album for the last six years. The Last Zulu would be the rapper's fourth solo studio album, and his first since 2009's Kamaal/The Abstract.

On Saturday, he tweeted, "The Last Zulu aka the riot diary #ComingSoon."

Q-Tip signed on with G.O.O.D. Music in 2012. It is unclear whether or not the album would be released through the partnership, but with all of Kanye's recent activity with hip-hop icons, it would not be a surprise.

Hype for the upcoming album peaked in 2013 with the release of the Busta Rhymes single "Thank You," which featured Q-Tip, Kanye West, and Lil Wayne. Shortly after, Busta Rhymes and Q dropped their mixtape The Abstract and the Dragon. In 2016, A Tribe Called Quest released their final album We Got It from Here… Thank You 4 Your Service, which landed them their first No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart in 20 years.

Q-Tip has been keeping busy. He is set to become an NYU instructor this fall to co-teach a course that will "explore historical, social, and musical connections between jazz and hip-hop" at the school's Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music.
