Selena Gomez's 2017 was filled with new music, regaining her health after a kidney transplant and rekindling her romance with ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. While the pop star may be happy about the relationship, her mother isn't here for it.

Mandy Teefey, Gomez's mom, is "not happy" about the singer's reunion with Bieber yet she doesn't want to interfere with her daughter's life. "Selena can live her life however she wants as long as she is happy, safe and healthy. Every mother and daughter has disagreements," Teefey tells Gossip Cop in an interview.

"We never expected to manage her her whole life. We lost family time because the only time we saw her, we talked business. It was no longer fun for any of us, like it was when she was younger and we had to be with her because she was a minor," she continued.

Teefey reveals she did not speak with Bieber during her daughter's medical scares. In fact, the two haven't spoke in years. She also explains that her decision to stop managing Gomez in 2014 had nothing to do with their rift.

Gomez and Bieber reunited as a couple late last year after dating on and off until 2014. The "Bad Liar" singer previously dated The Weeknd before the pair split in October 2017. Teefey reportedly got "so worked up" and was taken to the hospital upon learning the news that Gomez was back with Bieber. She was voluntarily transported to a hospital after a family member requested authorities perform a welfare check on her at a hotel in the Los Angeles area, according to TMZ's sources.

But as Teefey blatantly puts it to Gossip Cop: "She is 25 years old and knows what is at stake with her health. I do not control her the way it has been portrayed. Selena is an adult and can make her own choices."
