Action Bronson has been humbled by the fact that many rap fans hear similarities of his style and lyrics to the legendary Ghostface Killah. But sometimes comparisons can get tiresome.

Since his debut album Dr. Lecter that released in 2011, the Queens rapper has heard a lot of people say he sounds like the Wu-Tang icon. There have been numerous interviews where Bronson has gone on record to say that he’s honored by being compared to one of the greats.

“Yeah, I mean at the end of the day, it’s all good because [Ghostface Killah] is one of the best rappers alive, so if I sound similar to the best rapper alive then that is fine,” he told HipHopDX in 2011. “To me there is no comparison; he is a legend and I am a newcomer. If I would try and emulate with anyone it would be Kool G Rap, he is the person I look up to the most. In the end, I am not upset but at the end of the day I am my own person and no one can take that away from me."

More recently, Ghostface has even admitted to being confused by hearing him and mistaking Bronson’s voice for his own.“I thought he was me," he said to VladTV back in May. "I'm asking myself, 'When the fuck I do that verse?'"

Well, Bronson might be officially done with the comparisons. During an appearance on ESPN’s SportsNation, the hosts were asking about the parallels of Bronson and Ghostface, where he noted, “I think it’s indifferent at this point. People compare Coke and Pepsi. People compare everything. No matter what, you’re going to get a comparison to something. I’m just glad it’s one of the greats.”

Later on, though, Bronson’s tone shifts to a bit more boastful when they talk about his latest album, Mr. Wonderful. The interviewer joked that Ghostface might have some new material, but it turned out to be Bronson, so he bought the record anyway. That’s when Bronson replied, “He’s not rapping like this no more.”

Shots fired?

“No, just being honest.” Later, at the :50 mark after they say Ghostface needs to remix a popular song: “He needs something, he needs something.”

Oh boy. Watch it below to asset for yourself.
