Chance the Rapper is the precocious prodigal son of Chicago—an incredibly talented rapper with a sense for songwriting, an ear for melodies, and seemingly limitless energy. His 2012 project #10day was critically acclaimed and comes on a wave of local buzz. The effort definitely showcased his promise, but one gets the sense, between tracks like last year's "Yolo" and "Juice," that he's just warming up and hasn't come close to his ceiling. For the time being, there's an effortless joy in the realization of his own abilities.
